Honest questions

FAQ · the rest live on the Apply page
Q
Do I have to start at Sessions?

No. With a track record, you can apply directly to Workshops, Residency, or Fellowship.

Q
Is this only for engineers?

No — designers, PMs, marketers welcome. AI-native PMs are some of our highest-value fellows.

Q
Can I attend if I'm not in Hyderabad?

Sessions and most workshops have an online track. Residency and fellowship are physical-first.

Q
Are there scholarships?

Yes — for residency, on need basis, written application. Money shouldn't be the filter.

Kairos Cognitive Fellowship · Cohort I · Founding

AI talent is built in the doing, not the listening.

Six months. A founding cohort of thirty. Four senior mentors. A research-and-build apprenticeship for India's next generation of agentic-AI operators.

Anchored inside AI Tattv. Powered by Kairos AI Ventures. The Kairos Cognitive Fellowship is our flagship paid track for Cohort I — a structured apprenticeship that pairs you with mentors who have actually shipped category-defining AI systems.

I've spent thirty years watching brilliant engineers get stuck — not on the science, but on the gap between a working paper and a working product. The Kairos Cognitive Fellowship is the apprenticeship I would have wanted at twenty-two. Six months sitting beside operators who have actually shipped category-defining systems, building real things for real customers. The founding thirty pay nothing because we want the legend more than we want the revenue.

01 · The program

Hybrid · Hyderabad · June 2026

The Kairos Cognitive Fellowship is a six-month, hybrid, project-based program based at the AI Tattv floor in Hyderabad. Fellows are paired with senior mentors who have built category-defining companies — and they spend the majority of their time on live research and customer-facing projects inside the Kairos Cognitive Computing Lab.

The founding cohort is thirty fellows. The bar is intentionally high. Cohort I runs free as a strategic launch — future cohorts will pay ₹1,00,000 for the same six months. You pay with your bet, not your cash.

02 · Verticals

Where the Lab places its bets · what you will build

Fellows are organized into vertical pods, balancing Technology and Business tracks. Each pod is embedded with a senior mentor and a founder building inside the Kairos ecosystem. You will use frontier AI to help these founders ship products that actually move — and learn, in the doing, what real-world deployment demands.

V·01
Healthcare
You will help healthcare AI founders ship clinical agents — prior-auth, coding, intake — used inside real US health systems.
V·02
Financial Services
You will partner with FinReg founders building explainable agents for RIAs, wealth platforms, and back-office workflows.
V·03
Industrial AI
You will build alongside industrial AI founders deploying process intelligence on real plant floors and supply chains.
V·04
Robotics & Physical AI
You will join robotics founders building embodied agents that perceive, plan, and act in the messy real world.
V·05
Property Tech
You will partner with PropTech founders building leasing, maintenance, and renewal agents coordinated by swarms.
V·06
Commodity & Markets
You will help commodity AI founders ship relational reasoning agents across counterparties, sanctions, and contracts.

03 · Mentors

  • Public artifact: a project, paper, repo, or contribution
  • Vertical-specific curiosity (health, finance, industry…)
Track 02
Business Fellow

Business undergrads, MBAs, ISB candidates, or early operators with depth in one regulated domain. You translate. You sell. You build the case for the agent before it ships.

  • Demonstrated commercial or domain insight
  • Comfort with technical teams & primary research

What it is

A weekly public talk, demo, or AMA. Sometimes a researcher unpacking a paper; sometimes a founder showing what they shipped that week; sometimes a builder live-coding an agent.

The bar: it must teach you something you couldn't pick up from Twitter in five minutes. The format trades quantity for honest signal — we'd rather one good session than four mediocre ones.

Who it's for

Curious students, working professionals exploring AI, anyone who wants to see what serious building actually looks like — without a sales pitch.

Outcomes

  • Direct exposure to people doing the frontier work
  • A current read on the AI stack as it changes month-to-month
  • Access to the AI Tattv member directory and Slack
  • A glide path into the Builder tier when you're ready

What it looks like

Outcomes

  • A working artifact in your repo at the end of the day
  • Pooled API credits (Anthropic, OpenAI, Sarvam, others) provided

Who it's for

Builders with a track record (workshop credits, hackathon submissions, or external shipped projects). Application required.

Outcomes

  • A real AI product, deployed, with real users — not a slide-deck prototype
  • An eval harness that actually measures whether your thing works
  • A founder-grade README and demo your future co-founder can read
  • Investor and Kairos partner exposure during demo week
  • +1000 Mudra on completion · fellowship shortlist consideration

  • Week 4 — Mid-residency live demo + iteration
  • Week 5–7 — Production hardening, eval harness, users
  • Week 8 — Demo Day + investor exposure

What it is

You don't sit through more workshops. You're embedded inside a real venture for three to six months — building product, talking to users, owning a problem.

The fellowship is paid because the work is real. You ship inside a Kairos pod, a partner startup, or your own venture-in-formation.

Who it's for

Top of residency cohorts. Direct applications considered if you have a strong external track record.

Outcomes

  • A real-world deployment inside a venture team
  • Equity-track conversations with founding teams
  • Network of operators, founders, and investors
  • Alumni status for life — Slack, mentor circle, follow-on opportunities

What it looks like

  • Pathway 1 — Co-founder match into an early-stage AI startup

  • Pathway 3 — Your own startup, with Kairos as first check
  • Pathway 4 — Senior operator role at a partner venture
  • Pathway 5 — Return as mentor / lead a residency cohort

Prerequisites

Profile readiness ≥ 80%. Resume, LinkedIn, ≥ 2 shipped projects, bio. Residency completion strongly preferred.

Honest questions

FAQ
Q
How is fellowship different from a normal job?

You're embedded with structured mentorship, peer cohort, and a clear path to founder/equity tracks. We pay because the work is real.

Q
What about IP for fellows?

If the work is on a Kairos or partner venture, IP follows the venture (you're being paid for the work). If the work is your own startup idea, it's yours. Explicit in the fellowship agreement.

Q
Can I do fellowship without residency?

Rarely — strong external track records (shipped startups, notable open source, exits) can fast-track.
